Global Dialogue (ISSN 1986-2601)
Global Dialogue is the electronic journal of the Centre for World Dialogue, published online twice a year. Its clear, thought-provoking articles offer analysis and insight on questions of international concern.
Global Dialogue is dedicated to promoting the exchange of ideas on a broad range of pressing contemporary issues, social, political, economic and cultural.
As its name suggests, Global Dialogue aims to encourage debate. The journal reflects the belief that engagement and discussion are better means of resolving conflict than the threat or use of force.
Global Dialogue’s perspective is truly global. The journal does not confine its gaze to any one particular part of the world, but examines conflicts and issues wherever they arise. It also seeks to illuminate the forces at work internationally that are shaping today’s world.
Each issue is themed, providing in-depth coverage of a specific topic. Past issues have looked at globalisation, religious pluralism, terrorism, the morality and efficacy of economic sanctions, the dialogue of civilisations, the environmental crisis, Africa, the rise of China, and Latin America’s turn to the left.
Global Dialogue features the writing of leading scholars and thinkers.
Global Dialogue welcomes the submission of articles. The journal is aimed at the intelligent general reader, as opposed to an exclusively academic audience.
Articles should be approximately five thousand words in length and written in a non-technical style. Quotations should be sourced, but footnotes should otherwise be kept to a minimum and formatted in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style. (Bibliographies and author–date citations will not be used.)
